Create a system for developing mental strength

Instructions

  1. Come up with an action plan on how you’ll solve your problems.
Instead of constantly worrying about things that might go wrong, sit down and devise a plan. If you want to stop being scared of poverty, create a financial plan. If you want to get your dream job, create a career plan. A good plan eliminates the fear that comes with unpreparedness.

  2. Learn how to process negative emotions.
If you feel overwhelmed by sadness or grief, go ahead and cry. If you feel anger when you see an injustice, allow yourself to rage in a healthy way and then find a solution to the problem. Learn to respond and not react to your emotions.

  3. Focus your attention on what you can control rather than what you cannot.
Instead of worrying about trying to predict the outcomes of particular events in your life, focus on the things within your control. Put yourself in the driver’s seat of your life and take positive action instead of succumbing to the fear of the unknown.

  4. Humble yourself and understand that life is not just about you.
You may feel that people are always thinking about or judging you, but often they are too busy minding their own business. For example, if you feel self-conscious about going to the shop in sweatpants, just remind yourself that nobody is looking at you to judge you. This will put your mind at ease.

  5. Take responsibility for the outcomes in your life.
Put your energy into learning to be productive, improve your self-awareness, enhance your relationships, and take care of your health. Take control of your life instead of believing you’re just a cog in a wheel.
