You will start noticing the difference between the fixed and growth mindset in your life. You can change your mindset.

Instructions

  1. Find out what kind of mindset you have.
    Read the statements below and decide whether you agree or disagree with each one.
    If the statements 1 and 2 suits to you, probably you are fixed, minded person. Statements 3 and 4 reflect the growth mindset.

    1. Your intelligence is something very basic about you that you can’t change very much.
    2. You can learn new things, but you can’t really change how intelligent you are.
    3. No matter how much intelligence you have, you can always change it quite a bit.
    4. You can always substantially change how intelligent you are.
  2. Find out your personality mindset.
    Read the statements below and decide whether you agree or disagree with each one.
    If the statements 1 and 3 suits to you, probably you are fixed, mindset person. Statements 2 and 4 reflect the growth mindset.

    1. You are a certain kind of person, and there is not much that can be done to really change that.
    2. No matter what kind of person you are, you can always change substantially.
    3. You can do things differently, but the important parts of who you are can’t really be changed.
    4. You can always change basic things about the kind of person you are
  3. Think about a person you know who is a fixed, mindset person
    Think how they feel, always trying to prove something, or when they make a mistake or are wrong what they do. Try to understand why they behave like that.

  4. Think about a person that you know who is skilled in the growth mindset
    Think how they overcome difficulties, how they stretch themselves, about their attitude that skills can be cultivated and developed.
    Think if you could be such a person. Think about a way to stretch yourself.

  5. Imagine that you start learning a new language...
    After a few classes, a teacher in front of the classroom asks you questions one after another that you do not know the answer to.
    Imagine yourself in the fixed mindset. All eyes are turned on you, the teacher is judging you. Feel that tension.
    Now imagine yourself in a growth mindset. You are studying, that is why you are in the class. The teacher is there to help you. Feel the tension go away. Your mind is open.
